Photos of Scotland, May 2015
The photos of Scotland in this gallery were taken in May, 2015. My husband and I made a trip to visit family living in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, Scotland, a small village in the west central lowlands. After visiting with extended family, we set off on a road trip with the host relatives. Our trip began in Lochwinnoch and on to Kilmartin for the night, via Loch Lomond, Inveraray, and everything in between. Then it was on to Oban, where we took the ferry to the Isle of Mull. Our accomodations were at the beautiful Glengorm Castle. Exploring the Isle of Mull, including the picturesque Tobermory was delightful. On the way back to Lochwinnoch, we took the ferry to the Isle of Bute and took in the gorgeous scenery. Sadly, the trip was over too soon and we had to return home to the States.
My favorites things about this trip to Scotland (besides the relatives) – tea and scones, small children speaking with Scottish accents, tiny lambs, delicious vegetarian food in the land of fish and chips, staying in a castle, ,and the fresh, clean air.
You won’t see any kilts or pipes in these photos – we weren’t in the highlands! But I swear a few times I caught glimpses of the Outlander characters. Or maybe it was just me, living in my books again.
