Before I die I want to ________________ .
This is not a rhetorical question. Candy Chang wants to know, and so do I. What do you want to do before you die (what is important to you)?
From her talk:
“Two of the most valuable things we have are time and our relationships with other people. In our age of increasing distractions,it’s more important than ever to find ways to maintain perspective and remember that life is brief and tender. Death is something that we’re often discouraged to talk about or even think about, but I’ve realized that preparing for death is one of the most empowering things you can do. Thinking about death clarifies your life.”
I’ve witnessed birth and death, both personally and professionally. I’ve witnessed illness before dying, people prepared for death and those that it came to as a shock. I’ve known people who got that second chance, and people who didn’t. I’ve heard the regrets. I don’t want to have any. Do you?
The thought of death brings us back to the basics – the meaning of life.
So answer the question: Before I die I want to ________________ .
My answer: before I die I want to know that one life has breathed easier because I have lived. And when I die, I want it to be in his arms.
